For the first time ever The Lord Mayor of Hull, Cllr. John Hewitt, is holding a Rainbow Valentine’s Ball aimed at the LGBT+ community and it’s allies in aid of the Lord Mayor’s Charity Appeal Fund.
For many people this will be the first chance they’ve had to attend an event at the Guildhall in this way and truly feel that you can be yourself. The dress code is fabulous and formal with facilities for those who would like to get changed at the venue. The toilets for the ball will be marked as gender neutral, your ticket includes a hot buffet and there will be gaming tables from Grosvenor Casino as well as some fantastic entertainment and rainbow decoration.
Andy Train, our Creative Director for Pride in Hull says:
“The Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress enjoyed Pride so much they wanted to get that loving Pride feeling into an event at the Guildhall. It’s a great opportunity for us to enjoy the Guildhall in this way. It’s a chance to celebrate our diverse LGBT+ community on an evening which for many can be quite a challenge”
The evening will be hosted by Andy, opened and closed by Hull’s very own drag superstar Bobby Mandrell and other performers will include Lee Kamen, Roy Gibson and BPM.
Guildhall, 77 Lowgate Hull on Wednesday 14th February from 7:30 pm until 12:00am. Changing rooms will be available from 06:30pm upon request.
