Pride in Hull has been awarded a generous grant, just under £20,000, from the National Lottery Community Fund.
This provides a substantial boost to the organisation’s operations. This funding will contribute to the running costs of Pride in Hull over a two-year period, ensuring the continued success and growth of this important community event.
The grant comes as part of the National Lottery Community Fund’s recent initiative to double the maximum award available through their Awards for All programme, increasing it from £10,000 to £20,000. This change reflects the fund’s commitment to strengthening society and improving lives across the UK, with a particular focus on supporting grassroots projects and organisations.
For Pride in Hull, which relies entirely on sponsorships and small grants for its funding, this award makes a significant difference. The two-year support period offered by the grant will provide stability and allow for better long-term planning of events and initiatives.
Andy Train, Chair of Pride in Hull said: “The Board of Pride in Hull has expressed immense gratitude, recognising the potential of this funding to enhance our impact on the local LGBTQ+ community.”
This grant aligns with the National Lottery Community Fund’s commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, as demonstrated by their substantial investments in projects supporting ethnic minority communities, people with disabilities, and LGBTQ+ groups over the past year.
The support from the National Lottery Community Fund not only provides financial assistance but also serves as a recognition of Pride in Hull’s valuable contribution to the local community.
