Star-Studded Lineup Celebrates Diversity and Inclusivity

Pride in Hull

Pride in Hull is set to transform the city into a rainbow spectacle, this Saturday 27th July, and will emphasise the need for trans equality and education, while celebrating the entire LGBTQ+ spectrum.

The festivities kick off with a vibrant parade, gathering at 09:30, promising to be a dazzling display of love, acceptance, and solidarity. Following the parade, the main stage at Zebedee’s Yard will come alive with electrifying performances from 12:00-18:00.

Headline acts include pop sensation Louise, who will be treating the audience to her chart-topping hits. Adding to the star power, Max George from The Wanted will be joining the lineup and in a nod to this year’s trans-inclusive theme, acclaimed DJ Stephanie Hirst’s set will give the Pride in Hull family some positive energy.

The festival will also feature a special appearance by Miss Naomi Carter, the fierce drag queen from RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Notably, Ash Palmisciano, known for his groundbreaking role as Matty Barton in Emmerdale, will once again co-host the main stage. As the first trans actor to play a trans character in the long-running soap, Ash’s presence perfectly aligns with this year’s theme, “We’ve Got Pride Down to a T.”

Pride in Hull Chair, Andy Train said, “We’ve got Pride down to a T this year, and our stellar lineup proves it! From pop sensations Louise and Max George to DJ Stephanie Hirst and the fierce drag artistry of Miss Naomi Carter, we’re showcasing the full spectrum of LGBTQ+ talent.

“This isn’t just a celebration – it’s a powerful statement of visibility, inclusivity, and the vibrant diversity that makes our community shine. Get ready for a day that will entertain, empower and unite us all. Hull is about to burst with Pride, and everyone’s invited to the party.

“Trans Square in Queen Victoria Square is a space in the very heart of the city centre which aims to amplify voices across the gender spectrum and celebrate the visibility of all gender identities.

“Our goal is to raise awareness and understanding of gender diversity. Through these performances and educational initiatives, we hope to promote acceptance and respect for all individuals, regardless of their gender identity or expression.”

The festival extends beyond the main stage, offering a variety of attractions:

  • Silent Disco in the PQ Event space at Princes Quay
  • Family Area at Ferens Art Gallery
  • Community Market spanning King Edward Street, Hull Freedom Quarter, and Savile Street
  • Trans Square in Queen Victoria Square
  • Quiet areas are at Maister House and “Hush” by Autistic Pride at Pride located at Hull Truck.
