With less than a month until Pride in Hull 2018, stand by for the final acts that will be performing at this year’s massive LGBT party!
Nadine Coyle made her name as the lead singer of one of the country’s most successful pop groups. With the legendary Girls Aloud, she racked up 4 UK number one singles and 22 top ten hits, as well as six top ten albums. Nadine will be performing some of the group’s most iconic tracks, including ‘Sound of the Underground’, ‘The Promise’ and ‘Call The Shots, as well as highlights from her brand new self-titled EP.
Pride in Hull’s chair Matthew Walton said: “We knew we needed a massive pop star to close out Pride 2018 in style and Nadine has bags of it. Girls Aloud’s hits changed the pop landscape and we can’t wait to hear her belt them out in Queens Gardens”.
As you know, we live for the drama at Pride in Hull, so we’re massively excited to confirm that we’ll be home to a very special top secret gig, brought to you by Back to Ours!
Matthew continues: “We’re incredibly proud of our fantastic line-up this year, but we’re equally excited about the massive surprises that we have up our sleeves too! We’ve been sworn to secrecy about who will be joining us, but I can say that this performance from a platinum-selling, global LGBT icon is a Kiki not to be missed”.
Louise Yates, Back to Ours Director, said: “Our Secret Gigs have always gone down a storm in the William Gemmell Club as part of our half-term festivals, so we’re loving being able to pop up at Pride and wow with another amazing act.
“Having an international artist of this scale is incredibly exciting – we’ll say this much; dust off your dancing shoes and get ready for a bit of disco devotion.”
Also joining the lineup on 21 July is Marcus Collins. After finishing as the runner-up on The X Factor in 2012, he released his self titled debut album and scored a massive hit with his cover of the White Stripes ‘Seven Nation Army’. Not just a stellar vocalist, Marcus is a musical theatre star, appearing as Seaweed in the nationwide tour of Hairspray! the West End production of Kinky Boots.
Opening this show this year, we’re massively excited to be welcoming back the incredible Culture:Music orchestra, who’ll be defying all expectations of what an orchestra should sound like with a HUGE hour-long set of pop classics and dance anthems.
Conductor Daniel Thompson said “We believe here at Culture:Music that music does not discriminate. Music treats us equally and can mean a million different things to a million different people. But more than that, it is a way of creating unity, a sense of well-being and happiness that we can all enjoy and share. The Culture:Orchestra are proud to be part of the Pride in Hull celebrations for the second year running and will be bringing an exciting selection of dance and pop classics to open the celebration! Our 50 piece ‘electro’ orchestra performs all the beats-and-pieces live onstage and is made up of local musicians from our city. The Culture:Orchestra and their electro-pride session is one opener not to be missed!”.
In case you missed it, this news follows last week’s massive announcement that drag megastar Adore Delano will be slaying crowds Queen’s Gardens on Saturday 21 July. The news sent social media into meltdown and tickets to her special meet and greet event sold out in minutes.
