Radio 1’s Big Weekend is a music festival organised by BBC Radio 1. It is held once a year, in a different location within the United Kingdom each time. It is the biggest free ticketed music event in Europe and always includes a host of new artists.
Liaising with the PR team at Radio 1, I worked on communications activity targeted at attendees to ensure they understood the logistics of the day including travel arrangements. This included managing negative comments about the requirements for all attendees to use the official shuttle bus service.
At the festival I acted as a point of contact for media, handling last-minute requests and queries.
