It is with a heavy heart that the Pride in Hull team have taken the very difficult decision to postpone our fabulous 20th anniversary celebrations, due to take place on the 31st July 2021.
The decision to postpone has not been taken lightly and we have been working very closely with our community, partners and pride team to look at alternative plans for the main festival and parade. However, we cannot risk the health and safety of our community, our allies, volunteers and the public to go ahead with our event, that attracts over 50,000 people, in the current and uncertain climate.
We also do not want to put any additional pressure on the emergency services in Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire who are working so hard to keep us all safe during this pandemic.
We know you might be disappointed, but all is not lost for 2021. We know how much Pride in Hull is loved and we want to offer you something different this year. Our volunteers are behind the scenes planning and shaping Pride in Hull 2021 as we speak. Although this will be different to what we are used to, we want to create a sense of community, pride and togetherness in a time when we have been so far apart and, in many cases, isolated.
In the coming months, we will be releasing dates for our spectacular online event, special events throughout the year within the city and dropping subtle hints about our exciting winter event! (COVID-19 permitting).
We will be coming back with a bang, bringing pride back to our city. You may want to pencil in July 30th 2022!
From all of us at Pride in Hull;
We will see you soon.
