Pride in Hull ‘remarkable tourism event’ finalist at REYTA awards
Pride in Hull has been shortlisted in the 2020 annual REYTA awards in the category ‘remarkable tourism event’.
Matt Walton, Chair of Pride in Hull, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to have been shortlisted in the Remarkable Tourism Event of the Year award at this year’s REYTAs for the second year running. For an event that is organised 100% by volunteers to be recognised in such a way is incredible! It’s a huge achievement and a testament to the hard work of the entire team who fit organising one of the city’s biggest events around their day jobs.
“Pride in Hull is not only making waves in the city, but is earning a national profile, with 25% of attendees in 2019 travelling from outside of Hull and the East Riding to attend it has become a real tourism draw for the city.
“The people who make Pride in Hull what it is and create that atmosphere are the many thousands who come through the gates every year to enjoy a fun day that is accepting and open to all.”
Good luck to the other nominees in our category: Freedom Festival, Tribfest, Humber Street Sesh and Flamborough Fire Festival.
The REYTA Awards take place on 19 March at Bridlington Spa. See all of the shortlisted categories here.
